Mirziyoyev Delivers First Blow to Karimov’s Son-in-Law

On January 7, 2018, in his speech in the Tashkent district of Zangiota, President Mirziyoyev said that after the transformation of the former market Abu Sahiy LLC into a trade center, government revenues of Toshkent Ipak Yuli (Tashkent Silk Way) had increased to 35 billion Uzbek som during a 15-day period.

According to official information, the market’s monthly revenues when it was owned by Timur Tillyayev, the elusive son-in-law of Uzbekistan’s deceased President Karimov, amounted to only 5 billion Uzbek som.

Abu Sahiy LLC had previously imported goods into the country, enjoying special privileges since 2006. The company was founded in 2006 by Timur Tillyayev after he married Karimov’s younger daughter, Lola.
