Uzbek Prosecutor General’s Office: Ex-prosecutor General Rashid Kadyrov detained

Uzbek Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed that the ex-prosecutor general, Rashid Kadyrov, had been arrested. According to the press release published by the prosecutor’s office on February 24, Kadyrov had been prosecuted under articles 165, 205, 210 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Thus, Kadyrov, who had been a Prosecutor General from 2000 to 2015, is being investigated for alleged extortion, abuse of power, and bribery, accordingly. The investigation is ongoing.
