The artist Tuz notes the sad fate of Uzbek singers who constantly receive warnings and reprimands from officials concerning alleged violations of decency and morality. Cultural workers in Uzbekistan do not dare to argue with officials because they understand that the consequences could be devastating.

Only recently, the Uzbek Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyayev announced that the Uzbek singer Abdulaziz Karim, who had just received the Turkish citizenship, should be deprived of all his titles. According to Radio Ozodlik, the Prime Minister called him a “traitor-singer” who fled his homeland.
