“Russia needs Gas”

Uzbekistan is currently facing one of the worst energy crises in the history of the country. All major cities are experiencing shortages of gas, electricity, and hot water. As residents line up for gasoline, dissatisfaction with Tashkent’s inaction is growing among the Uzbek people. Despite this autumn’s severe energy crisis, the Uzbek government has announced plans to increase gas exports.

In 2016, the Russian company “Gazprom” will increase the purchase of natural gas from Uzbekistan. Prior to this, the company “Turkmengaz” has announced a complete cessation of the sale of Turkmen gas to Russia from January 1, 2016, pointing out that “Gazprom” has not yet paid the debt for already delivered gas.
